Late winter 2020 in the mountain west, worldwide pandemic, economic hardships, sheltering in place, time too much or too little.  Confusion, fuzzy head, digital overload, life overload.

 

Enter Julie, who in her warmth and generosity gifted me a bound book, gorgeous enough to be left untouched.  The handmade textural pages seemed to sing out for my well-traveled exploration with art to continue.

 

The journey began with a life long love affair with paper, text, books.  Paint old book pages, cut the painted pieces, draw or write on everything.  Flowers as inspiration or just the thought of flowers to change the narrative, pieced together in earthly colors inspired by elements of nature.  Love, the grounding emotion throughout the process and the gift of a calmer state of mind emerges.
