MONO PRINT SERIES

In the midst of a barren and wild landscape stand abandoned grain storage buildings that were once a part of the vibrant railroad and ranching life in the American West.

These imposing structures that define the vernacular of a region are forgotten icons where loss and decay are a way of life.  I have a sense of being in a sacred place while in the presence of these ghostly simplistic structures; all of the history of a place in your eye, listening to the metal siding flapping in the wind, the hollow sound of birds as they fly in and out of window openings add to the inspiration.

The etching press, the nature of ink on a plate and the element of surprise unique to printing offer the opportunity for expressive interpretations in many of my prints.
